We collect personal data only when you make a purchase (name, email address, payment details processed by PayPal) or when you voluntarily submit your email address to join our reader list. We also collect anonymised analytics data through Google Analytics 4 and Meta Pixel (see below).
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to measure anonymous site usage (pages viewed, time on site, approximate location, device type). It also loads a Meta (Facebook) Pixel which allows us to measure advertising performance and create retargeting audiences. These tools use first-party and third-party cookies. You can opt out of Google Analytics at any time using the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on. You can manage Meta Pixel preferences through your Facebook ad settings.
When you buy the book, your name, email address and payment information are processed by PayPal under their own privacy policy. We store your email address and order details to deliver your download link and provide support. We do not store your payment card details.
If you submit your email address to join the reader list, it will be used only to send updates about Before We Were Free. You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe instructions in a reader update.
This site uses PayPal for payment processing, Google Analytics 4 for anonymised site analytics, Meta Pixel for advertising measurement, and Resend for transactional email delivery. Each service operates under its own privacy policy.
Under Australian Privacy Act principles, you have the right to access, correct or request deletion of personal data we hold about you. Use the support details provided with your purchase or reader-list email to make a request.
